These are all great tips as long as you have the room in the kitchen. I wouldn't give up extra counter space just to make extra room for clearance.

My tip for the kitchen is stay out of it and let the wife do it all....lol

These are going to be effective in a kitchen where there is enough room and space. You can't do this all in a small kitchen.

I think it is fantastic how the stimulus funds are making a difference. They are being taken advantage of all the time with the installation of geothermal heat pumps to replace high energy heating and cooling systems.

Those are good to know about. There are also federal rebates available for geothermal hot water heaters and for solar hot water heaters.

MARATHON hot water heaters have a LOUSY RECOVERY time. I have the largest that they make..105 gallon tank. After continuous use for 50 minutes, it ran out of hot water and would not recover the hot water used for another 2 hours (warm in 1 hour..hot in 2 hours). I spoke with RICHARD (800-321-6718 ext 4092), their technical support person and asked why is this information not listed or shared with people on MARATHON website. His response..we do not list the NEGATIVES about our product. If you want CONTINUOUS hot water...DO NOT BUY A MARATHON
